Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Throttle Body and Related Components
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor from engine control sensor wiring.
3. Scribe a reference mark across the edge of the TP sensor and to the throttle body to ensure correct position during installation.
4. Remove TP sensor retaining screws and sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. To install TP sensor, reverse removal procedure.
2. Tighten retaining screws to 2.8-3.8 Nm (25-34 lb in).
