REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove fender apron extension from right hand side of vehicle.
3.
Remove water pump drive belt, then remove water pump pulley.
4.
Remove four attaching bolts and crankshaft pulley.
5.
Remove outer timing belt cover, Fig. 5.
6.
Align camshaft and crankshaft timing marks, Fig. 6.
7.
Remove timing belt tensioner, tensioner plate, spring and damper.
8.
Remove timing belt.
INSPECTION
Check timing belt for wear and cracks and replace as necessary. Check timing belt tensioner for smoothness of rotation and replace as necessary.
