DISASSEMBLE
IMPORTANT: Be sure not to remove the fuel pressure regulator valve or the ISC motor from the TBI unit They are not serviceable. They are
calibrated at the factory and are not adjustable.
1. Two bolts and ACL bracket from TBI unit.
2. Two screws and injector cover with electrical connector from TBI unit.
3. Fuel injector from TBI unit.
4. Two screws and TP sensor from TBI unit.
5. Two screws, separating upper and lower sections of TBI unit.
CLEAN

Passages and fuel injector chamber with an air nozzle.
IMPORTANT:
^
TP sensor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injector, ISC motor, and other components containing rubber or throttle shaft seals must not be placed in
solvents or cleaner bath. Chemical reactions to these pans may result in damage to the component.

Do not use drills or wire brushes to clean air passages. Damage may result to the passages.
1. New gasket to TBI unit.
2. Upper TBI unit to lower TBI unit; secure with two screws. Tighten TBI unit attaching screws to 3.5 Nm (31 lb. in.).
3. TP sensor to TBI unit; secure with two screws. Do not tighten fully.
4. Fuel injector to TBI unit
5. Injector cover to TBI unit, connecting electrical connector; secure with two screws.
6. ACL bracket to TBI unit; secure with two bolts. Tighten ACL bracket bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
Description
CLEAN

EFE heater-to-TBI unit mating surfaces.
1. New gasket to EFE heater.
2. TBI unit to EFE heater; secure with four bolts. Tighten TBI unit bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).
3. Accelerator cable to throttle lever and bracket; secure with two bolts. Do not tighten fully.
4. Vacuum hoses to TBI unit.
5. Two engine coolant hoses to TBI unit; secure each hose with clamp.
6. Fuel return hose to TBI unit; secure with clamp.
7. Fuel feed hose to TBI unit; secure with clamp.
8. Fuel injector electrical connector.
9. TP sensor and ISC motor electrical connectors.
10. PCV hose, IAT sensor electrical connector and ACL to TBI unit; secure with one bolt and one nut.Tighten ACL bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
11. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
