Shift Indicator: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the upshift indicator is to provide a display which indicates the optimum fuel economy point for upshifting the manual transaxle
based on engine speed and load. The display lamp is located in the instrument panel cluster assembly and is activated by the Engine Control
Module (ECM) when:

Vehicle speed is higher than 5 km/h (3 MPH).
^
Engine not idling or under heavy load.
^
Engine speed is greater than 1500 RPM.
