Wiper Gear Box: Service and Repair
Rear Wiper Transmission Replace

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Inspect wiper arms, for proper installation location.
3. Lift wiper arm nut plastic cover, then remove arm attaching nut.
4. Remove wiper arm from transmission.
5. Remove hatchback door inner trim panel.
6. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector.
7. Remove motor ground lead attaching screw.
8. Remove motor three attaching nuts, then separate motor from door.
9. Pry transmission from motor crank arm and wiper arm base, then slide transmission rearward to remove.

10. Remove wiper arm base from door, do not disconnect crank arm from motor.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Torque wiper arm nut to 15 ft. lbs.
