Evaporative Canister Filter: Service and Repair

Cleaning Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister

CLEANING EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER FILTER

With the EVAP canister removed, the filter can be cleaned. Using a small length of vacuum hose connected to the tank pipe, blow 294 kPa (43
psi)
 of compressed air into the tank pipe while holding the purge pipe closed.

NOTICE:

Do not attempt to wash the EVAP canister.

No activated carbon should come out while cleaning.
