Rear Knuckle: Service and Repair
1. Remove rear hub as described under Hub & Bearing, Replace. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints.
2. Remove brake lines and hoses, then backing plate from rear suspension hub.
3. Remove nut, bolt, and strut rod from knuckle.
4. Remove nut, bolt, and both lateral links from knuckle.
5. Remove two nuts, bolts, and strut assembly from knuckle.
6. Remove rear suspension knuckle from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When replacing rear suspension knuckle, tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
b. Bleed brakes, then check rear wheel alignment.
