DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove 2 caliper slide bushings, 4 dust boots and spacer collars, Fig. 1.
2.
Pry out caliper dust boot retaining ring and remove dust boot.
3.
Place clean shop towels in caliper web to protect piston, then apply compressed air to caliper fluid inlet to force piston from bore. Keep fingers
clear of caliper web when removing piston. Use only enough air pressure to ease piston out of bore, or piston may be damaged.
4.
Remove piston seal from caliper bore, taking care not to mar machined surface of caliper.
5.
Remove bleeder valve.
6.
Clean components with alcohol and wipe dry with clean, lint free shop towels. Blow out caliper body and fluid passages with clean, filtered
compressed air.
7.
Inspect caliper and piston for damage, distortion, excessive wear and pitting, and replace as needed.
8.
Replace mounting bolts, collars and caliper slides if they are damaged or worn.
