Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair

Removal
1.
Disconnect throttle valve cable from engine throttle body and retaining clamps.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Drain fluid from transaxle, then remove oil pan and neutral safety switch.
4.
Disconnect throttle cable retaining plate from transaxle.
5.
Pull throttle cable out of transaxle case and remove from vehicle.

Installation
1.
Install throttle cable into transaxle.
2.
Connect throttle cable retaining plate to transaxle and torque bolts to 53 inch lbs.
3.
Stake stopper to inner cable as follows:
a. Bend cable until there is a 7.87 inch radius, Fig. 5.
b. Pull lightly on inner cable until a slight resistance is felt.
c. Stake the stopper .031-.059 inch from end of outer cable while holding inner cable.
4.
Install transaxle oil pan and neutral safety switch.
5.
Lower vehicle, then install throttle valve cable to engine throttle body and retaining clamps and adjust as described under ADJUSTMENT
PROCEDURE/THROTTLE CABLE.
6.
Fill transaxle to proper level.
