Installation
1.
Install camshaft timing gear.
2.
Install crankshaft timing gear.
3.
Position No. 1 cylinder at TDC.
4.
Align camshaft timing gear hole with the exhaust camshaft cap mark, Fig. 5.
5.
Install idler pulley, mount bolt and tensioner spring. Pry idler to left and temporarily tighten.
6.
Install timing belt. If reusing original timing belt, align points made during disassembly with arrow pointing in proper direction.
7.
Loosen timing belt idler pulley mount bolt.
8.
Temporarily install crankshaft pulley bolt and turn crankshaft 2 revolutions from TDC to TDC. Always turn the crankshaft clockwise.
9.
Ensure all components are properly aligned.
10.
Install the timing belt idler pulley bolt.
11.
Ensure timing belt deflection is 0.20-0.24 inch. If belt is not within specification, the idler pulley must be adjusted.
12.
Reverse remaining removal procedure to complete procedure.
