Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
NOTE: Care should be used when removing O2 sensor as damage will occur to the 02 sensor and its wire.
IMPORTANT: O2 sensor may be difficult to remove at temperatures below 48°C (120°F). Care should be used so as to not damage threads in exhaust
manifold.
REMOVAL:
IMPORTANT: If exhaust manifold is hot care should be exercised when removing O2 sensor as to avoid personal injury.
1.
Ignition "OFF."
2.
Electrical connector.
3.
O2 sensor from exhaust manifold.
INSTALLATION:
IMPORTANT: The O2 sensor comes with anti-seize coating on the new sensor. Care should be used as to not remove any of this coating.
1.
O2 sensor to exhaust manifold.
2.
Torque to 41 N-m (30 lb. ft.).
3.
Electrical connector.
