Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Disassembly/Assembly
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove strut assembly as outlined under REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
2.
Mount strut assembly in strut holding/spring compression tool No. J-34013, or equivalent.
3.
Remove strut piston rod to suspension support nut.
4.
Remove suspension support, coil spring, insulator and bumper.

ASSEMBLY
1.
Mount strut in holding/spring compression tool No. J-34013, or equivalent.
2.
Align coil spring end with lower seat hollow and install coil spring.
3.
Install spring bumper and insulator.
4.
Align suspension support with piston rod and install.
5.
Align suspension support with strut lower bracket as shown in Fig. 4.
6.
Compress spring slightly, install a new strut rod piston nut and torque to specification.
