Disabling the SIR System
(Figure 1) Junction Block 1
(Figure 2) Lower Steering Column Connector
WARNING: These procedures must be followed in the order listed to temporarily disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and
prevent false diagnostic trouble codes from setting. Failure to follow procedures could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury or
otherwise unneeded SRS repairs.
PROCEDURE
1. Position steering wheel in a straight ahead position and turn ignition switch to "LOCK".
2. Remove IGN fuse and CIG and RADIO fuses from junction block # 1 (figure 1).
3. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and disconnect lower steering column connector (figure 2).
