Compressor Oil Contamination

Unlike engine oil, no cleaning agent is added to the compressor oil. Even if the compressor runs for a long period of time (one season), the oil never
becomes contaminated as long as there are no compressor malfunctions.

Inspect

For increased capacity of the oil.

For compressor oil color change to red.

^

For foreign substances, metal powder, etc. in the compressor oil.

If any of the above conditions exists, the oil is contaminated. Whenever contaminated compressor oil is discovered, the receiver/dryer must be replaced.
