Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, then drain crankcase oil.
3.
Remove righthand undercover, then exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
4.
Remove torque rod and flywheel dust cover.
5.
Remove stiffener from cylinder block, then oil pan.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Use new oil pan gasket, applying GM 1052942 sealant or equivalent to gasket surface. Torque stiffener bolts to 50
ft. lbs.
