Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

1.

On all models equipped with the SIR or inflatable restraint systems, disable system as described under MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION before performing any repair procedures on or near steering column.

2.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

3.

Refer to INSTRUMENT PANELS AND CLUSTERS/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/DASH PANEL
SERVICE to remove meter hood.

4.

Remove meter cluster from meter hood, then two clips attaching headlamp control harness.

5.

Remove four headlamp control switch retaining screws, then the headlamp control switch with illumination box, Fig. 8.

6.

Disconnect electrical connector, then two illumination box retaining screws and illumination box.

7.

Reverse procedure to install.

On all models equipped with the SIR or inflatable restraint systems, enable system as described under MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
