Tracker 4x4 L4-1.6L SOHC TBI (1994)
Dash Board / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove lower steering column cover panel.
2. Remove steering wheel. Refer to Steering / Steering Wheel / Service and Repair. See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel

3. Remove steering column lower cover screws, then the upper and lower covers, Fig. 49.
4. Disconnect combination switch electrical connector, then remove bands securing switch wires to steering column.
5. Remove instrument panel cluster bezel screws, then the bezel from vehicle.
6. Remove instrument cluster screws, then the instrument cluster assembly from instrument panel.
7. Disconnect instrument cluster electrical connectors, then the speedometer cable from cluster assembly.
8. Remove three screw covers, then the screws along top of instrument panel.
9. Remove three screws from bottom righthand side of instrument panel, then the three screws from bottom lefthand side of instrument panel.
10. Remove glove compartment screw, then the glove compartment from instrument panel.
11. Disconnect air conditioning switch electrical connector from behind instrument panel, then remove control knobs from heater control unit.
12. Pull heater control garnish from instrument panel, then remove heater control illumination lamp from garnish.
13. Remove ashtray from guide by pressing spring-loaded tab and pulling ashtray from guide.
14. Remove ashtray guide screws, then the guide from instrument panel.
15. Remove illumination lamp from ashtray guide, then the instrument panel center trim bezel screws and bezel from instrument panel.
16. Remove instrument panel handle nuts, then the handle from instrument panel.
17. Disconnect radio electrical connectors, then the antenna lead from radio.
18. Pull instrument panel from support member, then disconnect instrument panel and defroster ducts from center and side instrument panel outlets.
19. Remove instrument panel from vehicle.
20. Reverse procedure to install. Torque instrument panel handle to instrument panel nuts to 15 lb ft
