Condition
Some customers may comment on wear marks or cuts (1) in the seat belt opening of the front shoulder belt adjustable guide cover(s).
Cause
This condition may be caused by the opening in the shoulder belt guide cover being too small to accommodate the travel of the seat belt. After multiple
cycles, the seat belt may wear cuts into the opening.
Correction
Replace the worn shoulder belt guide cover(s) with the new cover(s) designed with a larger seat belt opening.
1. Remove the center pillar upper garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in SI.
2. Remove the shoulder belt adjustable guide cover by separating the cover retainer from the upper garnish molding. Manually disengage the two
side (1) and two rear retaining tabs and roll the loose side of the cover retainer upward to release the three non-retaining tabs on the opposite side.
3. Remove the push-button assembly from the shoulder belt guide cover for transfer to the new replacement guide cover.
