THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CORRECT THE SATURN CLAIM INFORMATION CASE TYPE. SATURN U.S. RETAILERS
SHOULD USE A "VC" CASE TYPE WHEN SUBMITTING A CLAIM. PLEASE DISCARD ALL COPIES OF 07058, ISSUED MARCH 2007.
THIS SERVICE UPDATE INCLUDES VEHICLES IN DEALER/RETAILER INVENTORY AND CUSTOMER VEHICLES THAT RETURN FOR
ANY TYPE OF SERVICE AND WILL EXPIRE AT THE END OF THE INVOLVED VEHICLE'S NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY
PERIOD.
Purpose
This bulletin provides a procedure to reprogram the Transmission Control Module (TCM) on certain 2007 GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook vehicles.
Revised TCM calibrations have been developed which improve shift responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles currently in dealer/retailer inventory and customer vehicles that
return to the dealer/retailer for any type of service during the New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage period.
Vehicles Involved
Important:
Dealers/retailers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using the system(s) below. Not all vehicles within the above
breakpoints may be involved.
-- GM dealers and Canadian Saturn retailers should use GMVIS.
-- US Saturn retailers should use the AS/400 system.
Parts Information
Do not attempt to order the calibration number from GMSPO. The calibration numbers required for this service procedure are programmed into control
modules via a Techline Tech 2(R) scan tool and the Techline Information System (TIS) 2000 terminal with the calibration update. Use data version 3.0
for 2007 or later, available on TIS 2 Web (website version of TIS) March 9, 2007; and on TIS DVD version 4.0 / 2007 or later, mailed to dealers
beginning April 11, 2007. Contact the Techline Customer Support Center at 1-800-828-6860 English or 1-800-503-3222 French to obtain the correct
calibration until the February 18, 2007 TIS 2 Web update.
Service Procedure
The "Required Field Actions" section of the GM Vehicle Inquiry System (GMVIS) must be checked to determine if a specific vehicle requires this
action. If GMVIS indicates that Service Update Bulletin 07058 remains [Isquo]open' and TCM reprogramming has not taken place, reprogram the TCM
using a Tech 2(R) scan tool with the calibration update from Techline Information System (TIS).
