Thermostat: Service and Repair
With Dual Thermostat
REMOVAL
1. Remove the bolts from the thermostat housing.
2. Remove the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the thermostats with the seals.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the seals onto the thermostats.

The seals have a split, inner edge, which Install over the flange on the thermostats.
^
The seals have a bead on the surface that faces the thermostat housing.
2. Install the thermostats in the coolant crossover.
3. Install the thermostat housing.
4. Install the bolts/studs.
^
Tighten the bolts/studs to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
