Condition
Some owners may comment about a "squeal" noise coming from the brakes. The noise comes fr6m the front brakes on the 15 Series trucks and from the
rear brakes on the 25 Series trucks.
The noise may be more noticeable when the brakes are applied for the first few times after the vehicle has been sitting overnight, or when the brakes
have been allowed to cool. The noise is not audible after the brakes have been heated from the first few brake applications. Humidity may contribute to
the amplification of the noise.
Correction
A new brake pad kit has been developed to correct the condition. Install new brake pads on affected vehicles. Refer to the 1999 Silverado and Sierra
Service Information for brake pad replacement procedures. Use the part number listed below.
