C 1500 Truck 2WD V8-5.3L VIN T (1999)
CAUTION: In order to avoid possible injury or vehicle damage, always replace the accelerator control cable with a NEW cable
whenever you remove the engine from the vehicle.
In order to avoid cruise control cable damage, position the cable out of the way while you remove or install the engine. Do not pry or lean
against the cruise control cable and do not kink the cable. You must replace a damaged cable.

Install the engine sight shield mounting bracket and the bolts.

Install the accelerator control cable and the cruise control cable, if equipped, to the throttle shaft. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable
Replacement
8. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement
9. Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to a NEW O-ring seal and install the seal onto the EGR pipe.
10. Insert the EGR pipe into the intake manifold.
11. Start the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
12. Install the EGR pipe to cylinder head bolts. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
13. Install a NEW EGR pipe exhaust manifold gasket and bolts.
13.1.
Tighten the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
13.2.
Tighten the EGR pipe to cylinder head bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs).
13.3.
Tighten the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs).
