Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold nuts. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (Heavy Duly-6.0L) Catalytic Converter
Replacement. Front Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Remove the spark plugs from the engine. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement in Powertrain Management.
5. Remove the exhaust manifold from the engine. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Removal (Left Side).
6. Clean and inspect all parts. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Clean and Inspect
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the exhaust manifold to the engine. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Installation (Left Side).
2. Install the spark plugs to the engine. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement in Powertrain Management.
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Install the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold nuts. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (Heavy Duty-6.0L), Catalytic Converter Replacement
(Light Duty-4.3L, 4.8L, and 5.3L), or Front Pipe Replacement (System B 6.0L) in Engine Exhaust.
5. Lower the vehicle.
