Condition
Some owners may comment about a squeak or rattle noise near the right or the left hinge pillar/Instrument panel (IP) area. The condition may be more
noticeable when driving over bumps.
Cause
The condition may be caused by a loose fit of the windshield side garnish molding to the hinge pillar, allowing movement of the trim.
Correction
Replace the windshield side garnish molding on affected vehicles. Use the appropriate part numbers listed below. Refer to the Interior Trim subsection In
the 1999 Silverado and Sierra Service Manual for replacement procedures.
