Front End Upper Tie Bar Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery)   Battery Negative Cable

Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery)    in Engine Electrical.

2. Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper)   Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and

Deflectors (Side)    in Engine Cooling.

3. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Old Style)    in Lighting Systems.

4. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts.

5. Remove the bolts from the front end diagonal brace.
6. Remove the front end diagonal brace.
7. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement    and Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (W/O

M74)   Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (W/M74)    in Engine Cooling.

8. Remove the tie bar to radiator brace bolts (1). Access the bolts from the rear of the upper radiator support using an extension.
