3. Install the tie rod seal (2) to the outer tie rod assembly (1).
4. Connect the hexagon torque prevailing nut (3) to the outer tie rod stud (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the hexagon torque prevailing nut (3) to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
Important: Be sure the rack and pinion boot is not twisted or puckered during toe adjustment.
5. Adjust toe by turning the inner tie rod. Follow recommended manufacturer specifications.

Tighten the hexagon jam nut against the outer tie rod to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
