C 1500 Yukon XL 2WD V8-8.1L VIN G (2001)
1. Install the shock absorber.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the upper shock absorber nut and bolt.
3. Install the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.

Tighten the nuts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the electrical connector and air line if equipped with RTD.
5. Connect the RTD sensor (if equipped). Refer to Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Electronic Suspension - Left (15 Series) or Rear Position
Sensor Replacement - Electronic Suspension - Left 425 Series) or Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Electronic Suspension - Right (25 Series) in
Real Time Damping (RTD).
6. Remove the support from the rear axle.
7. Remove the safety stands.
8. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure
Important: This shock absorber is a very high pressure gas charged component. Never attempt to tether or manually compress the shock.
Replacement shocks are supplied in the fully extended position.
