Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Exhaust manifold bolt location
EXC. VAN
Right Side
1.
Disconnect batteries and raise vehicle.
2.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold and lower vehicle.
3.
Disconnect glow plug wires and remove air cleaner duct bracket.
4.
Remove glow plugs and manifold bolts.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Refer to Fig. 11 for bolt locations and torque.
Left Side
1.
Disconnect batteries.
2.
Remove dipstick tube bracket nut, then the dipstick tube.
3.
Disconnect glow plug wires, then remove glow plugs.
4.
On 1986---87 models equipped with A/C, remove rear A/C compressor bracket.
5.
On all models, remove manifold bolts, then raise vehicle.
6.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold, then remove manifold from bottom of vehicle.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Refer to Fig. 11 for bolt location and torque. To aid installation, install manifold bolts hand tight while vehicle is
still raised.
