Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection
1.
Check hoses for deterioration and blockage, and replace as needed.
2.
On 4 cylinder engines, remove PCV and cam covers:
a. Check PCV valve diaphragm, spring and housing for dirt or damage. Repair as needed.
b. Check baffle in cam cover and clean as needed.
3.
On V8 engines, check for plugged CDR valve or breather, check CDR for grinding or sticking, and replace as needed.
