Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2.
Remove air cleaner.
3.
Disconnect upper radiator hose and water pump bypass hose.
4.
Disconnect fuel line, accelerator linkage and cables from carburetor.
5.
Remove distributor.
6.
If equipped with A/C, remove compressor and front bracket and position aside.
7.
Remove alternator upper mounting bracket.
8.
Remove rear A/C bracket, if equipped.
9.
Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
10.
Reverse procedure to install, using new gaskets and seals. Torque manifold bolts to specification in sequence shown in Figs. 12 and 12A.
