Crankshaft Balancer: Service and Repair
Replacement, Engine Overhaul

J 23523-F Crankshaft Balancer Remover and Installer, or equivalent
1. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and the washer.
2. Use the J 23523-F in order to remove the crankshaft balancer.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: The inertial weight section of the crankshaft balancer is assembled to the hub with a rubber type material. The correct Installation
procedures (with the proper tool) must be followed or movement of the inertial weight section of the hub will destroy the tuning of the crankshaft
balancer.
1. Install the key into the crankshaft keyway.
2. Apply a small amount of RTV sealant onto the key in order to seal the balancer keyway and crankshaft joint.
3. Install the crankshaft balancer hub with J23523-F until the hub is completely seated against the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring.
4. Remove the J23523-F
5. Install the bolt and the washer.

Tighten the balancer bolt to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
