Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair
FUEL FEED AND FUEL RETURN PIPE PURGE PROCEDURE
CAUTION: The water/diesel fuel mixture is flammable. The water/diesel fuel mixture could be hot. In order to help avoid personal Injury and
property damage, do not touch the fuel coming from the drain hose. Also do not expose the fuel to open flames or sparks.
Be sure you do not overfill the container. Heat (such as from the engine) can cause the fuel to expand. If the container is too full, fuel could be
forced out of the container. This could lead to the risk of personal injury and vehicle damage.
1. Open the air bleed valve on top of the fuel manager/filter.
2. Connect a hose to the air bleed valve located on top of the fuel manager/filter and place the other end of the hose into a suitable container.
3. Turn the key ON for 5 seconds and OFF for 10 seconds until clear fuel is observed at the air bleed hose.
4. Close the air bleed valve.
5. Start the engine and allow to run for 5 minutes at idle.
6. Check for fuel leaks.
7. Clear all engine DTCs.
