Fuel Cooler: Service and Repair
Cab/Chassis
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Disconnect the fuel pipes from the fuel cooler (1).
3. Remove the retaining nuts (2) from the chassis crossmember.
4. Remove the fuel cooler (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the fuel cooler (1) to the chassis crossmember.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
2. Connect the fuel pipes to the fuel cooler (1).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Purge the air from the fuel system.
5. Start the engine and inspect for fuel leaks.
