After the paint has dried, lubricate the surface of the new rivet (1) with grease, GM P/N 1050109 (In Canada use P/N 5264008), or equivalent The
film thickness should be between 0.03-0.30 mm (0.001-0.012 in).

Finger tighten the new detent link (4) with the new washer (2), the rivet (3) and the new nut (1) to the hinge strap

In the next step, use tape or a suitable covering material in order to protect the door from damage when installing the stud.
