Condition
Some customers may comment on a noise coming from the blower motor.
Cause
Based on feedback provide by dealer technicians, engineering was able to determine the blower motor noise may be related to the motor brush to
commutator interface. It is possible to correct the condition by stabilizing the brush - forcing the brush to one side of the brush box to keep it from
rocking.
The current service cover (refer to TSB # 06-01-38-001A) should continue to be used to address HVAC motor noise issues. However, the use of the
service cover alone will not address this specific chirp and/or tick/click condition.
Correction
Engineering is currently validating a new design blower motor with a tilted brush to address this condition. If the service cover does not resolve the
customer's concern, replace the blower motor.
