5. If the brake drum cannot be removed, perform the following.

5.1.

Remove the rubber plug from the backing plate.

5.2.

Insert a screwdriver, until contact has been made with the adjuster lever.

5.3.

Slightly push the adjuster actuator lever away from the adjuster.

5.4.

Using a second screwdriver, rotate the adjuster in an upward motion, until the adjuster is seated.

5.5.

Remove the brake drum.

6. Using the J 42450-A, clean the mating surface between the rear axle flange and the brake drum.

Installation Procedure 

1. Using the J22364-01, measure the brake drum.
