Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor: Service and Repair

MAP Sensor

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTE: Other than checking for loose hoses and electrical connectors, the only service possible is a unit replacement if the diagnosis shows a
faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.

NOTE: After removing the MAP sensor from the intake manifold, replace the MAP sensor to intake manifold seal.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the electrical connector releasing the locking tab.
3. Remove the MAP sensor.
4. Remove the MAP sensor grommet.
5. Discard the MAP sensor grommet.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the new MAP sensor grommet on the MAP sensor grommet.
2. Install the MAP sensor.
3. Install the electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
