Noise and/or Vibration When the A/C Compressor Cycles (Replace Compressor Hose Assembly)

with 5.3L Engine (VINs P, M - RPOs LM4, LH6)

This bulletin is being revised to add models and provide repair information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-01-39-006A (Section 01 -
HVAC).
Condition
Some customers may comment on an intermittent thunk or bump type of noise or feeling when the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor engages. The
customer may not realize that the noise is originating from the A/C system and may comment that the noise sounds like it is coming from the instrument
panel area.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the cycling of the A/C compressor and is emanating from the A/C accumulator. The A/C system is operating as
designed but an improved compressor hose assembly has been developed that should improve the noise concern.
Correction
Technicians are to replace the A/C compressor hose assembly with P/N 15276426. Refer to the Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement procedure in
SI for more information. The nut listed below, P/N 11609411, is used to attach the compressor suction hose to the bracket on the rear of the right valve
cover.
