Rear Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Close the window.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Peel back the corner of the water deflector in order to expose the door handle screw access hole.

4. Remove the outside door handle screw access hole plug.
5. Remove the outside door handle rod from the handle.
6. Remove the screws that retain the outside door handle to the door panel.
7. Remove the outside door handle from the door.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the outside door handle to the door.

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the screws that retain the outside door handle to the door.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 Nm (35 lb in).

3. Install the outside door handle rod to the handle.
4. Install the outside door handle screw access hole plug.
5. Return the water deflector corner to the original position.
6. Install the door trim panel.
