8. Inspect the old oil filter to ensure that the filter seal is not left on the oil pan.
Installation Procedure
1. Wipe the excess oil from the oil filter mounting.
2. Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the oil filter to the oil pan.
Tighten the filter to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Wipe the excess oil from the drain plug hole.
5. Install the oil drain plug to the oil pan.
Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Fill the crankcase with the proper quantity and grade of engine oil.
8. Remove the oil level indicator.
