10. Fuel line O-rings and discard.
11. TBI attaching bolts.
12. TBI unit and gasket.
- Discard gasket.
NOTE: Stuff manifold opening with a shop towel to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering engine.
Clean
Gasket sealing surfaces.
CAUTION: Use care in cleaning old gasket material from machined aluminum surfaces. Sharp tools may damage sealing surfaces.
Inspect
-
Manifold bore for loose parts and foreign material.
-
Intake manifold sealing surface for cleanliness.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New TBI gasket.
2. TBI unit.
3. TBI attaching bolts.
Tighten
TBI attaching bolts to 22.0 Nm (16 lb. ft.).
4. New O-rings on fuel lines.
5. Fuel inlet (feed) and outlet (return) lines.
Tighten
Fuel line nuts to 27.0 Nm (20 lb. ft.).

Use a backup wrench on the TBI fuel nuts to prevent them from turning.
6. Vacuum hoses and bracket.
7. Throttle cable.
-
Make sure the throttle cable does not hold the throttle open.
8. Injector wiring harness.
9. Electrical connectors, making sure connectors are fully seated and latched.
10. Governor motor wiring harness connector.
11. Negative battery terminal.
Inspect
With engine "0FF" and ignition "ON," check for fuel leaks.
12. Gasket, extension (spacer), and air cleaner assembly.
13. Reset IAC valve pintle position:

Disconnect battery cable at battery for 10 seconds then reconnect cable.

Ignition "ON," engine "OFF" for 5 seconds.
-
Ignition "OFF" for 10 seconds.
Fuel Meter Body Assembly
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury that may result from a fuel leak, always replace O-ring seals exposed during component
service.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery terminal.
2. Loosen filler cap(s) to relieve fuel tank pressure.
3. Air cleaner assembly, extension (spacer), and gasket.
4. Electrical connectors to injectors.
5. Fuel meter body cover and fuel injectors.
6. Fuel inlet (feed) and outlet (return) lines.
7. Fuel line O-rings, and discard.
8. Fuel inlet nut and two O-rings, fuel outlet fitting and gasket from the fuel meter body assembly.
-
Discard O-rings and gasket.
9. Fuel meter body to throttle body attaching screws.
10. Fuel meter body and gasket from throttle body.
