Blower Motor: Service and Repair

FRONT UNIT

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove coolant overflow hose, coolant overflow tank, then the power antenna assembly, if equipped.
3. Disconnect motor harness lead.
4. Remove five motor assembly mounting screws, then remove motor assembly. It may be necessary to pry on the blower flange, to remove the

assembly, if the sealer acts as an adhesive.

5. Remove cage from motor after removing shaft retaining nut.
6. Reverse procedure to install, using new sealer if needed.

OVERHEAD UNIT

1. Remove battery ground cable, then the rear duct.
2. Remove refrigerant hoses from evaporator and blower assembly.
3. Remove blower motor ground wire, then the electrical connectors.
4. While supporting unit, remove lower to upper case attaching screws.
5. Remove lower case and blower motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
