MESSAGE 94-C-O1.
THE DCS MESSAGE SENT ON SEPTEMBER 3, 1993 WAS INCORRECTLY NUMBERED AS 94-C-O1 AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN
NUMBERED 94-C-02.
ADDITIONAL VEHICLES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE AFFECTED POPULATION AND WILL APPEAR ON ALL CAMPAIGN RELATED
ACTIVITIES (I.E. VISS, SERVICE NET ETC.). THE "REVISED VEHICLES" SECTION SHOWS THE NEW VIN BREAKPOINT FOR G VANS
FROM SOP THROUGH RF5031O4.
The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, as amended, provides that each vehicle which is subject to a recall campaign of this type must be
adequately repaired within a reasonable time after the owner has tendered it for repair. The failure to adequately repair within 60 days after tender of a
"vehicle is prima facie evidence of failure to repair within a reasonable time.
If the condition is not adequately repaired within a reasonable time, the owner may be entitled to an identical or reasonably equivalent vehicle at no
charge, or a refund of the purchase price less a reasonable allowance for depreciation.
To avoid having to provide these burdensome solutions, every effort must be made to promptly schedule appointments with owners and to repair the
vehicles as soon as possible. As you will see in reading the copy of the letter which is being sent to owners, the owner is being instructed to contact the
GMC Consumer Relations Office if the dealer does not remedy the condition within five days of the mutually agreed upon service date. If the condition
is not remedied within the reasonable time, they are instructed how to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Defect and Vehicles Involved
DEFECT INVOLVED
General Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in CERTAIN 1994 C/K Sierra models, C/K Suburbans, C/K
Yukons, C35OOHD models, G Rally Vans, G Vandura Vans and G Magnavans. Some of these vehicles were built with a brake pedal pushrod retainer
missing, mispositioned or not properly seated. This condition could cause the stop lamp switch and the brake booster pushrod to disconnect from the
brake pedal, resulting in a loss of brake operation and a vehicle crash could occur without prior warning. To prevent this condition from occurring,
dealers are to inspect all vehicles to assure the brake pedal retainer is secure and fully seated in the groove and can be rotated a full 360 degrees in both
directions. Any vehicles found with missing or mispositioned retainers will require a new retainer to be installed. If there are any vehicles that have
already been delivered, the dealer must contact the owner and arrange for the vehicle to be inspected and repaired as needed.

Involved are CERTAIN 1994 C/K Sierra models, C/K Suburbans, C/K Yukons, C35OOHD models, G Rally Vans, G Vandura Vans and G Magnavans
built within the VIN breakpoints shown.
Vehicle Identification Number Computer Listings are furnished to all involved dealers with the campaign bulletin. Dealers should confirm vehicle
eligibility through "SERVICE NET", or VISS (Vehicle INFORMATION Service system) prior to beginning campaign repairs.
