Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Front Oil Seal Replace
FRONT COVER OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect battery cables.
2. Remove radiator shroud, accessory drive belt and crankshaft pulley.
3. Remove torsional damper bolt and washer.
4. Using torsional damper puller tool No. J-39046, or equivalent, remove torsional damper.
5. Using a screwdriver or oil seal puller, pry out front crankshaft seal.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate new seal and crankshaft stub.
b. Using seal installer tool No. J-22102, or equivalent, install new seal.
c. Tighten bolt and pulley attaching bolts to specifications.
