Flex Plate: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the automatic transmission, if equipped. Refer to the appropriate procedure in Transmission and Drivetrain
3. Remove the automatic transmission flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Removal.
4. Remove the manual transmission, if equipped. Refer to the appropriate procedure in Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Remove the manual transmission flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Removal
6. Clean and inspect the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Clean and Inspect
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the manual transmission flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Installation.
