Front shock absorber removal and installation procedure is given in Section 3C-1 "Front Suspension and Axle" of the 1988 C-K Pickup Truck Service
Manual Supplement ST-375-88S.

CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL

Each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Campaign Bulletin will require a "Campaign Identification Label".
Each label provides a space to include the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service. This information may be inserted
with a typewriter or ballpoint pen.
Each "Campaign Identification Label" is to be located on the radiator core support in an area which will be visible when the vehicle is brought in for
periodic servicing by the owner.

Apply "Campaign Identification Label" only on a clean dry surface.

Campaign Administrative Allowance

**The "Parts Allowance" should be the sum total of the current GMSPO Dealer Net price plus 30% of all parts required for the repair.

Dealers will automatically receive the correct labor and material allowance based on the labor operation performed.

Dear Chevrolet Owner:

This notice is sent to inform you that Chevrolet Motor Division is conducting a recall campaign that includes your vehicle.

REASON FOR THIS RECALL

General Motors has detemined that some 1988 Chevrolet K10 Trucks equipped with Off-Road Bilstein Front Shock Absorbers may have an incorrect
valve in the shock absorber.

During off-road driving, the incorrect valving causes increased loading into the shock valve which may result in premature valve wear and subsequent
shock absorber failure.

WHAT WE WILL DO

To prevent the possibility of this condition occurring, it will be necessary to replace the front shock absorbers on all involved vehicles. This service will
be perfored for you at no charge.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Instructions for performing this service have been sent to your Chevrolet Dealer. Please contact your dealer to arrange a service date. The labor time
necessary to replace the front shock absorbers in your vehicle will be approximately thirty-five
(35) minutes. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your vehicle.

The enclosed Owner Identification Reply Card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist in making the necessary
correction to your vehicle in the shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid reply
card and returning it to us.
