Surge Tank Hose Replacement (Heater Core to Water Pump)

J 43181 Quick Connect Connector Removal Tool
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2. Remove the air intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Powertrain Management.
3. Remove the heater and surge tank hoses from the mounting clip.
4. Using the link disconnect the heater and surge tank hoses from the heater core inlet and the outlet.

Install the link to the heater core pipes.

Close the tool around the heater core pipes.

Firmly pull the tool into the quick connect end of the heater hose.

Firmly grasp the hose. Pull the hose forward in order to disengage the hose from the heater core.
5. Remove the surge tank hose from the surge tank.
