8. Use the following procedure in order to adjust the nut:
a. Back off the adjusting nut (4) one quarter turn.
b. Retighten the adjusting nut to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
c. Align the closest adjusting nut slot with the keyway in the axle spindle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the key (5) into the keyway and the adjusting nut (4) slot.
2. Install the retaining ring (6).
3. Install the axle shaft (1).
Axle Shaft Replacement (10.5 inch Ring Gear).
4. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
