Radiator Hose: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Most C/K models use a spring - type clamp at the radiator hose connections. When using this type of clamp, install radiator hoses on
dry, non - painted surfaces in order to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring - type clamps on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2. Remove the clamps.
3. Remove the radiator inlet hose.
4. Remove the radiator outlet hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the radiator outlet hose.
2. Install the radiator inlet hose.

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the clamps.

Tighten the outlet upper clamp bolt to 2.8 Nm (2 ft. lbs.).

4. Refill the coolant in the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
5. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, inspect for coolant leaks.
