Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
CONDENSER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air inlet duct.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the air cleaner.
4. Remove the air inlet assembly.
5. Remove the upper radiator hose.
6. Remove the upper fan shroud.
7. Remove the lower radiator hose.
8. Position the lower fan shroud to one side to allow removal of radiator.
9. Remove the radiator.
10. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See: Refrigerant/Service and Repair
11. Remove the compressor discharge hose assembly from the condenser.
12. Remove the discharge hose.
13. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser.
14. Remove the insulator retainer bolts and the upper insulator retainers.
15. Remove the condenser.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the condenser.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the upper insulator retainers and the insulator retainer bolts.
